With stunning views of El Teide, Bodegas Monje is situated in the town of El Suazal in the countryside of La Hollera in the north of Tenerife.
The steep, stony, yet rich volcanic terrain means that all of their vines are tended to by hand. The region boasts a special micro climate making it the perfect wine making area. It is here that they combine age old practices with modern day technology.
The Monje family have been producing wine here since 1750 and are now in the fifth generation.
Oak barrels and modern methods create the special character and flavour of the Monje red, white and rose rosé wines. The dedicated ten person team works tirelessly to maintain the guiding principles and loving care that the wines deserve.
The winery also hosts various events and gastronomic experiences.
Bodegas Monje offer you the chance to get to know the real Tenerife, traditions and of course their wines.
Set in volcanic soil with traditional grape varieties reflects the unique fresh taste of their wines.
Bodegas Monje produce mostly red wines and reflect the area in which they are produced. All of the wines are part of a limited production of wine bottled and individually numbered under the “Denominación de Origen Tacoronte-Acentejo”. This local supervisory body is responsible for quality control and guarantees the origin and quality of wine.
There are different tasting sessions and options for you to try each month. Their chefs work hard to create new gastronomic masterpieces.
You can book guided tours of the vineyards and winery and wine tasting with typical Canarian cheeses or canapés.
