As part of Spain, Tenerife is within the EU.
Therefore, whilst the UK is still part of the EU, if your passport describes you as a British Citizen or Subject of the United Kingdom, you do not need a visa to enter Tenerife.
Following the EU Referendum on 23/6/2016 when the UK voted to leave the EU, the current regulations stand. There will be no immediate change to entry requirements for passengers arriving from the UK. There will be no change whilst the UK remains a full member of the EU.
Your passport needs to be valid for the whole duration of your stay.
You do not need any period of validity beyond the date of your stay on the Island. You are able to travel up to the last day of passport validity.

If you are arriving from outside the EU and wish to extend your stay longer than three months you should enquire with the Spanish embassy or consulate prior to entering to Spain.
