Duty Free Location at Tenerife South Airport

The main duty free shopping area is situated on Floor 0 Departures in the passenger only zone.

The Canariensis shops stock a wide variety of goods and Duty Free items.

The opening hours for the Duty Free shop depend on air traffic and during the busier summer months have extended opening hours.

There is also a Duty Free shop in Floor 0 Arrivals in the passenger only zone.

Duty Free Goods to Buy

A wide variety of Duty Free goods can be purchased in the airport Duty Free shop and there are generally some good offers on in the store.  Bear in mind that spirits, tobacco and perfume can be widely bought on the Island and are often cheaper in price in the local stores if you check out the prices beforehand.

Generally airlines allow you to take on board in addition to your hand luggage, one bag of Duty Free goods that you have purchased at the Duty Free shop in the airport.

There is also a selection of shops, bars and restaurants close by in the departure lounge.

There is a pharmacy – Botiquín de farmacia

This can be found in Floor 0 in the Departures lounge.

Opening hours

10:00 to 18:00 (Monday to Friday).  10:00 to 14:00 and 15:00 to 18:00 (Saturday and Sunday).

Duty Free Limits

The Canary Islands are one of a group of nine territories which are part of the EU but are situated outside of Europe and known as the ‘outermost regions’ (OMR) therefore outside of its customs and VAT regulations but are part of the EU Member State.  Therefore when travelling back to the UK from Tenerife the following Duty Free allowances apply per person over the age of 18 years:

1 litre of spirts or strong liquers (over 22% volume)


2 litres of fortified wine (such as sherry or port), sparkling wine or any other alcoholic beverage of less than 22% volume.

You may combine these allowances, provided that you do not exceed your total alcohol allowance.

In addition, you may also bring back:

16 litres of beer and 4 litres of still wine.

Tobacco allowance:

200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco.

You can combine these allowances, provided you do not exceed your total tobacco allowance.

You cannot combine your alcohol and tobacco allowances.

If you are under 17 years of age, you do not have an alcohol or tobacco allowances.
