If you are planning on taking a public taxi from Tenerife South Airport to your destination you will find the taxi rank outside the main arrivals terminal.
The airport can be very busy in peak season but there are a plentiful supply of taxis and the queue moves quickly.
Official taxis at the airport are only licensed to carry 4 passengers, therefore if there are more than 4 in your party you will have to take 2 or more taxis. A cheaper and more convenient option would be to pre-book a private transfer.
If you are travelling with young children make sure that the taxi driver has a car or booster seat.
If you are travelling with a wheelchair or guide dog you will not be charged extra for these.
Make sure that you only take an official taxi from the Airport which can easily be identified by the “SP” (Servicio Publico) plate, which is clearly displayed on the vehicle and a green light either in the window or roof of the vehicle.
Generally taxis have two price bands dependent on the time of day when you arrive and there will be a supplemented fare between the hours of 22.00 – 06.00.
If you are unsure about the cost of your journey ask the driver before you travel. There will be an official meter in the taxi.
